A right-wing host on Tuesday questioned whether Donald Trump's latest tariff proposal will lead to inflation, according to Mediaite.

The president-elect announced on Monday that he would impose tariffs on goods imported from Mexico, Canada, and China

The Associated Press reported, "He said he would impose a 25% tax on all products entering the country from Canada and Mexico, and an additional 10% tariff on goods from China, as one of his first executive orders."

Speaking with former Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), CNBC's Joe Kernen asked “I’m just wondering — don’t a lot of things have to go right for us not to reignite inflation and scare the bond market?”

He continued, “I’m surprised the bond market keeps — it’s very strange the 10-year yield keeps going down because it’s supposed to be at 5% now that it’s Trump.”

The ex-California congressman, per Mediate, submitted "that by targeting fentanyl that comes into the country from China and elsewhere, the United States is protecting its young, working class, which is the country’s greatest asset."

McCarthy asserted, “If they’re successful, they won’t even go into effect. What the president is telling you is he’s going to focus on America, but he’s going to use every single tool he has in whatever negotiation you’re talking about,” he said. “That’s why the world is going to be reset."
