In the United States' 2020 presidential election, a long list of prominent conservatives endorsed now-President Joe Biden — including Cindy McCain, former Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Arizona), former Ohio Gov. John Kasich and former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina.

Now, four years later, many Never Trump conservatives are rooting for Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris. Three of them — attorney George Conway, journalist Charlie Sykes and "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough — came together during a Monday, August 12 panel discussion on MSNBC.

When MSNBC's Jonathan Lemire noted that Donald Trump is falsely claiming, without evidence, that Harris is faking the size of the crowds at her campaign rallies, Conway told the panel, "As I've been yammering about for five or six years now, he is a deeply unwell man. He is a deeply, psychologically disturbed individual."

The conservative attorney continued, "If he were a member of your family, you would be staging an intervention and taking him in to a psychiatric hospital…. He is a pathological narcissist and a sociopath. And these are, historians will tell you, the traits of authoritarian dictators throughout history. And what we're seeing now…. is an implosion…. He has completely lost it."

Conway's comments on Trump's mental health got no argument from Scarborough, Sykes, Lemire, co-host Mika Brzezinski or the Rev. Al Sharpton (who was also on the panel).

Sykes warned that if Trump loses to Harris, his MAGA Republican allies will do everything they can to overturn the election results.

Sykes told the "Morning Joe" panel, "As we're watching this decomposition meltdown by Donald Trump, notice that not a single prominent Republican is looking at this and saying, 'Hey, you know, let's get off this train. This is deeply wrong. Let's go in a different direction.'"

The conservative journalist continued, "They're completely locked in…. It is sad, it is alarming. But it is also profoundly dangerous what is going on…. He is using this as a way of saying that the Democrats are cheating, that Kamala Harris should be disqualified…. This is pre-election denialism by Donald Trump."

Sykes noted that Trump "is already laying the groundwork for what's going to happen after November."

"I think this is going to be an extraordinarily dangerous period," Sykes told the panel. "He has election deniers in key states. His base is psychologically not prepared for him to lose. And as George mentioned, this is a desperate man…. He's already coming up with his lines for why he can deny the results of the election."
