When 2024 GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump was campaigning in late September, his critics attacked his inflammatory speeches as everything from dangerous to offensive.

The dangerous part, critics say, came when Trump called for a "really violent day" of policing during a rally in Erie, Pennsylvania. The offensive part, according to critics, came when he attacked his Democratic rival, Vice President Kamala Harris, as "mentally disabled" and told a crowd of supporters that while President Joe Biden "became mentally impaired, Kamala was born that way."

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina), a former Trump critic turned enthusiastic supporter, defended Trump during an appearance on CNN.

CNN's Jake Tapper told Graham, "So, first of all, there are actual people out there with mental impairments, and that's insulting to them. Second of all, Vice President Kamala Harris is not mentally impaired."

Graham responded, "No, I just think she's crazy liberal."

The South Carolina Republican went to on tell Tapper, "I'm not saying she is crazy. I'm saying your party is, your polices are bats--- crazy."

Tapper told Graham, "Well, they're not my policies."

Asked about Trump's rhetoric, Graham said, "I just think the better course to take is to prosecute the case that her policies are destroying the country. They're crazy liberal."
