'Bizarre': Alito’s wife caught on tape complaining about looking at 'Pride flags for the next month'
Weeks after The New York Times reported that two flags representing Donald Trump's Stop the Steal campaign in his efforts to overturn the 2020 election were flying outside of both his residential home and vacation home, US Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito has refused to recuse himself from any January 6 related cases.
The high court justice has blamed the flags on the fact that his wife wanted to fly them.
Journalist and documentary filmmaker Lauren Windsor attended a the Supreme Court Historical Society dinner last week, and posed as a Christian conservative, according to Rolling Stone, while interviewing the justice's wife.

Windsor talked to MSNBC's Joy Reid about the encounter on the latest episode of The ReidOut.
Reid noted that the audio is "bizarre, but also relevant" considering Alito blamed Mrs. Alito last month for the reason the flags were flying from their homes.
"You know what I want?" Mrs. Alito says in the audio. "I want a Sacred Heart of Jesus flag, because I have to look across the lagoon at the Pride flag for the next month."
She continued, "This is how I satisfy myself. It’s white and has yellow and orange flames around it. And in the middle is the word 'vergogna.' 'Vergogna' in Italian means shame — vergogna. V-E-R-G-O-G-N-A. Vergogna."

Reid asked Windsor about her thoughts.
"Well, throughout this sort of rant, there was a lot of, aggression, against the media, getting even. It felt like another instance of getting even, shame, shame, and at one point she talked about being German. I really had more of the impression that she was Italian by the way she was talking about it."
