'This isn't cute': MAGA engaged by Walz’s 'white guy tacos' remark

During a lighthearted conversation about food with 2024 Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz humorously said he likes "white guy tacos" — meaning hard taco shells with "ground beef and cheese" as opposed to authentic Mexican tacos with soft corn tortillas.

"Black pepper is the top of the spice level in Minnesota," Walz joked. And when he posted a video of the conversation on X, formerly Twitter, the Minnesota governor commented, "Listen, I'm just not much of a spice guy."

Walz's comments have been drawing fake outrage — not from "woke" progressives who are accusing him of "cultural appropriation," but from MAGA Republicans who believe he is disparaging white people.

David Marcus, a columnist for Fox News' website, tweeted, "This isn’t cute. Walz is being used as a clown to mock white people. If Walz doesn't like spicy food that's fine, but it has nothing to do with being a white guy."

Radio host Larry O'Connor was equally offended, tweeting, "It's like a minstrel show lampooning white, Midwest stereotypes."

Paul Rossi accused Walz of "falsely playing to every stereotype of 'whiteness' in a cloying way to ingratiate himself with the diversity thang."

In a separate tweet, Rossi said of Walz, "White man does whiteface."
