Watch: Kristi Noem argues NRA is diverse, then the camera reveals otherwise

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) recently argued that the media is responsible for projecting the National Rifle Association of America (NRA) as if it is mostly comprised of white males.
During her speech at the gun rights advocacy group's recent convention, Noem weighed in with details about her own association with the organization as she discussed the demographic.
"Now, I probably don't look like a traditional NRA member. The media would have us believe that the NRA is only made up of old white guys," Noem said.
She added, "And all you old white guys can be proud and raise your hands. But there's a lot of other people, a lot of diversity within the NRA. Well, let me tell you something. I may be a mom and a grandma, but I am the NRA."
However, when the camera was turned toward the audience, the sea of attendees contradicted Noem's arguments. The revelation wasn't missed by social media users.
Reacting to the video, many used the moment to criticize Noem for her flawed assessment.
One user tweeted, "That made me laugh out loud. SO much diversity in that crowd!!!"
"Yep, that’s a diverse crowd," another user tweeted. "Some drive Chevy, some drive Ford and some drive Dodge, along with the odd Toyota and Honda."
Another user also mocked Noem sarcastically pointing out the level of diversity in the crowd of attendees tweeting, "That's a very diverse crowd. There are bald old white guys, old white guys with gray hair, old white guys wearing glasses, fat old white guys..."
